बदहाल रातों के लंबे सिलसिलों से गुजरने वाले एक खूबसूरत जहां में, परेशान थी आवाम। घर-द्वार के जवान, पढ़ें लिखे युवक-युवती को काम नहीं मिल रहा था। भटक रहें थे वह, दर-दर, काम की खोज में । कितनों ने तो आशा ही छोड़ दी है कि उन्हें उनके पढ़ाई-लिखाई की हैसियत का काम मिलेगा । वह बस जो भी मिला है उस काम पर टिके रहना चाहते हैं । कितनों को तो ऐसा आधा-अधूरा रोजगार भी नहीं मिला है और रोजगार पानें की कोई उम्मीद नहीं बचीं हैं । उस जहां में वैसे तो लगभग 10 लाख सरकारी नौकरी में पद खाली थें । सारे युवाओं की उम्मीद का एक मात्र अंतिम विकल्प था इन सरकारी नौकरी में रिक्त पदों पर भर्ती हेतु अधिसूचना जारी हो जाएगी । इस जहां के चुनावी गणतंत्र के समयानुसार सार्वत्रिक चुनाव की आघोषणा का माहौल बना हुआ था । जहां के नेताओं में कुछ ऐसे नेता थे, जो लोकतांत्रिक व्यवस्था में विश्वास रखते। ऐसे लोकतांत्रिक व्यवस्था को प्रोत्साहन देने वाले, जो नेता इतने समझदार थे, जो जानते थे की इन 10 लाख के करीब सरकारी रिक्त पदों पर युवा पीढ़ी के स्त्री-पुरुषों को नौकरी मिलने पर, केवल इन लोगों का समाधान नहीं होगा । हर परिवार को एक नया

India is celebrating its 75 years of freedom from the British rule under the title, “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”. Freedom, from the imperialist rule and establishing a system of democratic self-governance is indeed an important achievement in the history of modern India. But as we know it, Indians got freedom but along with it, came the partition of India, which was a decision of the British rule. As if a person lost its limbs, India lost its parts on the right as well as on the left, as the freedom dawned on us at the midnight, on August 15th 1947. Snake stories 🐍

For past few days I have been following the Snakes of India page on Facebook. Feels good to be able to correctly identify the wolf snake. I used to be always confused about that. 😊 Identifying the big 4's (cobra, Krait, saw scaled viper and Russel's viper), or pit vipers or the king cobra, was not a problem since as a teenager I learnt about them. After having bitten by few non-venomous snakes, while I was learning to handle them, 😊 blue chequered keellback(दिवड) 2 times, while wolf snake (कवड्या), trinket, buff stripped keelback (नानेटी) each once, bit me. First time I was learning from experts, to catch a lizard (सरडा), it too bit me. 🦎 All these bites were in less than 3 years time, while I was a teenager and may be had just hit 20. As a result, my visit to our GP doctor to get anti-tetanus injections were periodic and regular. Everytime I went to this Doctor Aunty, she would scold me and warn me not to play with such things. पसूडी में इश्क़ ए जमूरीयत

Post in Hindi, please read. Can't write a poem on thoughts as complicated and confusing as this. Some may laught at these words. But this is not a joke. पसूडी में इश्क़ ए जमूरीयत एक तरफ ताज़, कुतुब और ज्ञानव्यापी मस्जिद के बारे में सवाल-जवाब के बवाल, दूसरी तरफ विरोधी पक्ष के एक युवा नेता का खून और अब किसानों के नेता टिकैत जी पर हमला। पूरे जोर-शोर से पसूडी ( Pasoori in Punjabi means confusion), फैलाई जा रही है ताकि महंगाई बेरोजगारी और आर्थिक मंदी से लोगों का ध्यान कहीं और ही भटकाया जाए। इस संदर्भ में Coke Studio Pakistan Season 14 के Pasoori (यह खूबसूरत गाना पिछले तीन महीनों से अपने देश में बड़ी चर्चा में रहा है।), इस गाने का जिक्र कर रही हूं। गाना बेहतरीन हैं और आनंद, मनोरंजन ज़रूर करता है। लेकिन इस गाने से हम मनोरंजन के अलावा कुछ और हासिल कर सकते हैं, शायद।‌ क्या इस गाने से हम, हमारे इस फैले हुए पसूडी से हमारे भारतीयता को, अपने जमूरीयत ( democracy) को बचाने के लिए, उसे जमके पकड़ कर, उसे संवारने, बनानें और अपनाने के लिए थोड़ी हिम्मत जुटाने की आशा जीवित कर सकते हैं? या हम बस फैला

95th anniversary of Mahad Satyagraha

Dear friends, #mahadsatyagrah March 20, 1927 Dr. Ambedkar led people to visit a public tank and those people were able to drink water from that public tank. Before that they were denied access to water from this tank and many such in the country, on the basis of they being born into specific castes. Today marks the 95th anniversary of this day which brought a revolutionary change. It was the first public attempt to overthrow the caste system. And claim access to the public good, (water, in this case), as a right. Are we doing enough now today? After 1961, in Maharashtra there was a movement led by socialists, "ek have ek panvatha", i.e., one village one well / source of water.
